A city: Montreal. Over 1,600,000 people. How many connections are made in a day? How many are missed? How many moments are lost between strangers? How can they be found again?

Craigslist’s ‘Missed Connections’ is a database that people can turn to when they want to start looking.

There, made courageous by the cloak of anonymity, people can openly declare the micro-crush they developed on their way to work, or lament a lost love.

Does anybody hear them? Does it matter? Or is the mere act of confession enough to comfort people into knowing that at least they tried something, even when courage failed them in the actual, living moment?

Either way, ‘Missed Connections’ is a digital archive of tiny urban moments, each becoming increasingly mundane as it gets date-stacked deeper and deeper into the endless ephemera of the internet.

'Missing Moment Data' is an interpellation of that process. A re-materialization of moments that were abstracted by the process of digitization.

An analog remediation. An invitation to play, to touch and to make confessions of your own.
